Why moisture matters
Moisture can change the effective reaction environment and introduce variability during handling and processing. Sampling and storage practices can affect the result as much as the original batch.
What acid value can indicate
Acid value may reflect acidic species or degradation-related changes. Its practical significance depends on the process route, catalyst system and interaction with other indicators.
Do not review one number alone
Combine purity, moisture, acid value, color, ash and trace impurities with process observations. A nominally acceptable feedstock can still behave differently in a sensitive line.
Build a representative trial
Use a documented sample, controlled storage, agreed test methods and a polymerization protocol that reflects commercial conditions.
Qualify recurring supply
After a successful sample, compare pilot and production batches and define lot release rules before moving to a recurring contract.
